Sparking children’s confidence and curiosity!

“I felt like a real engineer!”

“I can’t believe I made a functioning thing, I love the experience, it is so satisfying. It’s fun and you get to feel so proud of yourself! Initially I didn’t think it was possible, but suddenly it all clicked and worked!”

“Today, you saved me £25 because I used the skills your product taught me to fix my calculator instead of buy a new one - and I succeeded! It was a great feeling and it made me want to repair more stuff in the future.”

“Today’s lesson was amazing! I learned how to work with technology and how you can fix it. I would definitely use this when something is broken.”

“I like that you can dissect and look at different parts and then put it back together.”

"Who knew fixing gadgets could be so fun and rewarding! My favourite was repairing the remote controlled car."

FAQ

What if I get stuck?

Our instructions and troubleshooting guides should help you get through most challenges, but when something's just not working our expert fixers will get back to you as soon as possible (usually within just a few hours), just contact support@team.repair

What comes in a kit?

Each kit comes with a gadget in need of fixing, along with all the spare parts and tools needed to complete the repair. You'll also get a mix of science, design, and sustainability challenges for each gadget.

How long is the repair activity?

Each gadget repair takes about 1-2 hours. Once the repair is completed, there are hours of bonus challenges you can complete too!

What do I need at home?

We provide everything to complete all gadget repair activities, including all tools and spare parts. Our extension activities and bonus challenges benefit from some common home supplies, including scissors, tape, and any spare cardboard (please remember not to cut up our box, you'll need it to send everything back)

How did we design our programme?

Team Repair was founded by Design Engineers, and the programme was created from our own experiences of what got us into science and tech - which was getting hands-on with real products and taking them apart when we were younger! We also designed this hand in hand with educators, parents, and of course, children, to create the best possible experience!

What science topics do you teach?

Each kit is aligned with different KS2/KS3 curriculum STEM topics such as circuits, batteries, motors, gears, and electricity. Alongside this, we also aim to provide education around different sustainability topics, as well as core repair skills.

How does returning the kit work?

Each kit needs to be back to us at the end of the rental period so that we can re-service it for someone else to repair, meaning everything gets reused over and over again! Inside the box you'll find a shipping bag with a return label already attached. Simply put everything back in the original box, seal it up and put it in the shipping bag and seal that too. Now just drop this off at your local post office.

What if something breaks?

Things break sometimes and that's ok, we want you to be able to get stuck in to these activities without worrying too much, so there's no penalty for accidental damage. But if anything breaks, please do let us know, and make sure everything still get's returned to us as anyway, since we'll be able to use it as spare parts for other broken gadgets!

What if I'm late to return it or I lose something?

Since we reuse all our gadgets, we do need everything back so the next children have something to repair too (our rental schedule can get quite booked up!). If we don't get kits back in time we have to replace them quickly, which means we'll have to charge a lost fee to cover our costs, this also applies if kits are returned with parts missing. The lost fee can be up to 100% of the bundle price. For more information see our Terms and Conditions at the checkout.
